UNCCD COP14
A selected logo design for UNCCD COP14, hosted by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in New Delhi.
The project began as a public logo design competition for UNCCD COP14, an international convention focused on desertification, land degradation, and sustainable land management. The brief was to create a descriptive event mark that could represent land, life, sustainability, hope, inclusiveness, and global participation in one recognisable symbol.
The challenge was balance. A highly descriptive logo could easily become overcrowded, while a very minimal mark would not carry enough meaning for the event. The direction was to build one compact composition using a few connected symbols: a sapling for renewal, sun rays for hope and progress, land and water forms for ecological balance, and a circular structure to suggest inclusiveness and global outreach.
The final mark was selected from more than 1,200 entries and became the official logo for COP14. It was later used across event communication, venue graphics, stage backdrops, banners, apparel, and digital applications during the convention.
